Hi I’m Cyndi and I believe in the power of words and narratives to transform strangers into loyal brand advocates.

This belief stems from my years as an award-winning journalist for news outlets like NBC and community newspapers all across the country. There, I learned how to create storytelling content, distill complex ideas, and most importantly, connect with people through content.

Just like the stories we told in the news, effective content marketing is about forging genuine connections. It's about bringing your brand into the heart of an online community, transforming them from casual browsers to enthusiastic fans.

Every brand has a story, but not every brand knows how to tell it. That’s where I come in.

Award-winning writer and journalist Cyndi Zaweski founded content marketing company, Ascent StoryCraft in May 2020 — you remember, right when the world was falling apart. At that point, Cyndi had all but lost her job as executive editor for a regional luxury magazine in New York.

The publisher wasn't giving a lot of space or attention to the hottest restaurants in town or how color theory impacts the vibe of a living room. The headlines of course turned to public safety, rightfully so. She was left watching her work become irrelevant as the world shutdown. And she wasn’t the only one.

It wasn’t long before Cyndi turn her storytelling, content planning skills into a service helping local business to stay connected with their customers through social media, emails, and blogs during pandemic-era separation.

Today, Ascent StoryCraft’s mission remains one of connectivity and community building through content. We believe that every business owner, educator, consultant and freelancer with a chef’s kiss skill set and desire to help others should be able to connect and profit from the free content they publish online.

🖊️ During my corporate days, I was a TV reporter and news anchor for NBC and CBS stations across the country — I even lived in Louisiana and West Virginia during my TV news days. I ended my full-time journalism career as the Executive Editor of a Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, where it was my 24/7 job to plan and write content months in advance. Future casting content that will keep people reading is my thing.

🖊️ I'm a New Yorker but not the big city “flashing lights” kinda New Yorker. I grew up on Long Island surrounded by mom-and-pop farms and small-town artisans, which instilled a great respect for small business owners trying to make a difference.

🖊️ I’m happily married to my husband, Jason. Our doggo Molly is a ham, so you’ll likely be seeing lots of her on my Instagram.

Personal growth and true crime are my jam. So if know your enneagram and occasionally wonder where in the world D.B. Cooper is, we’re gonna get along famously.

🖊️ I’m all about words, words, words, words, words. I carried around a notebook as a little girl — before gazillionaire Richard Branson made it cool.

To this day, I bring a notebook nearly everywhere I go. And I come up with a lot of content along the way.
